That the Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Children , Education and Skills approved the School Organisation Plan 2016.

Proposals to Extend the Range of Provisions for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs pdf icon PDF 168 KB

Cabinet Member is asked to consider the outcome of the statutory process to locate additionally resourced centres as Dickens Heath, Windy Arbor and Yew Tree Primary Schools.

RESOLVED

 

That the Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Children, Education and Skills approved the following;

 

(i)  The proposal to create a 14 place additionally resourced centre at Windy Arbor Primary School for up to 14 pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder( ASD) from 1  April 2018.

(ii)  Conditionally the proposal for Yew Tree Primary School to create an additionally  resourced assessment centre to cater for up to 7 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health ( SEMH) needs from 1 September 2016,  the conditional approval being based on planning permission being secured for the development by 1 September 2016. 

(iii)  Conditionally the proposal to create an additionally resourced centre at Dickens Heath Primary School to cater for up to 14 pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder ( ASD) from 1 September 2017, the conditional approval being based on planning permission being secured for the development by 1 April 2017.

Exclusion of the Press and Public

The meeting is likely not to be open to the public during discussion of the following items because the reports contain exempt information as defined in Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972.

RESOLVED

 

The Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Children, Education and Skills decided that in accordance with Section 100A (4 ) of the Local Government Act 1972 , the press and public should be excluded from the Decision Session for the remainder of the business to be transacted , on the grounds that there would be disclosure to them of exempt information in terms of Paragraph 3 of Schedule 12A  of the above Act.

Children's Services Capital Programme - Greswold Primary School Tender Acceptance

This report outlines the final scheme proposal for the expansion of Greswold Primary School, one of the approved projects within the Children's Services Capital Programme for the delivery of additional school places across the Borough.
