To inform the Cabinet Member of the Summer Fest 2018 event.

The Cabinet Portfolio Holder noted the report and requested that a review be undertaken of the Events Policy and Guidance for Parks, Open Spaces and Town Centres (Shirley and Solihull) which was approved by Cabinet in January 2012. Furthermore, it was requested that the Cabinet Member responsible for implementing Fees and Charges conduct a review in respect of the fee currently charged to the Organiser of a large scale Music Festival, to ensure that all the necessary costs incurred by the Council are recovered.

 

Event Organiser Mr Ian Rogers and local resident Mrs Maria Graham addressed the meeting to explain how the 2018 event went from their perspective.

To seek Cabinet Member approval for the Dickens Heath Community Facility proposal based on the key future principals as outlined in this report.

Decision:

The Cabinet Portfolio Holder approved the Dickens Heath Community Facility proposal subject to the following principles and key conditions:-

(i)As legally required, the proposed building is subject to the appropriate planning approval; and

(ii)A detailed facility usage, revenue funding, and governance plan being finalised and reported back, early in the new year, which then must be approved before construction of the facility can commence.

REVENUE AND CAPITAL MONITORING 2018/19 AS AT 30th September 2018 pdf icon PDF 119 KB

To inform the Cabinet Member of the Portfolio’s latest forecast financial position as at 30th September 2018 against Revenue and Capital budgets as summarised below and detailed in the attached Appendix A.

To inform the Cabinet Member of the Portfolio’s progress against the latest 3 year savings targets in the Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) summarised below and detailed in Appendix A.

To inform the Cabinet Member of the Portfolio’s future pressures and mitigations detailed in Appendix B.

(i)Endorsed the 2018/19 revenue and capital financial monitoring forecast as at 30 September 2018; and

(ii)Noted the progress against the latest three years savings targets in the Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) as at 30 September 2018.
