Eligibility declaration

In response to COVID-19, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced:

  • A one-time, business relief grant of £10,000 (in support of meeting ongoing business costs) for all businesses in receipt of Small Business Rate Relief (SBRR)
  • A one time , business relief grant (in support of meeting ongoing business costs) to businesses that were eligible for the expanded Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Relief scheme where the property has a rateable value of less than £51,000. The amount of the grant is:
    1. £10,000 for a business property with a rateable value of up to £15,000
    2. £25,000 for a business property with a rateable value of over £15,000 and less than £51,000

In completing this declaration, I acknowledge:

  1. Solihull Council reserves the right to verify any claim or associated expenditure by checking with third party organisations including but not limited to banks, credit reference agencies, information held by the local authority and other local authorities
  2. Either:
    • A - Eligibility to the £10,000 Small Business Rates Relief Grant and the applicant is in receipt of Small Business Rates Relief within the Solihull Council area, or
    • B - Eligibility to the £10,000 or £25,000 expanded Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Relief scheme grant
  3. The applicant business is trading at the Billed address and the above business account number
  4. The payment details provided are the official business account details for the eligible business
  5. If false or misleading information is provided we reserve the right to take further action against you including but not limited to the recovery of monies paid to you and/or legal proceedings
  6. Solihull Council  will make the final decision as to the payment of any grant
  7. I confirm I am consenting to SMBC contacting the above bank to verify the bank account is that of the above business
