Update on Applications to Funding Bodies that Support the Council’s Priorities

Purpose:

To gain Members approval before the acceptance of any external funding

Decisions:

The Cabinet was:

 

Ø  informed of the progress of an external funding applications on behalf of the Council as detailed in Appendix 1 to the report;

 

Ø  invited to agree the acceptance of specific external funding to support the delivery of the Council’s priorities; and

 

Ø  invited to agree to delegate authority to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the two projects, as detailed in Appendix 1, to support the delivery of the Council’s priorities.

 

Members were advised that if the applications were successful they would help deliver significant benefits in line with the Council Plan.

 

RESOLVED:

(i)  That an application to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), in partnership with One Public Estate (OPE) be agreed regarding - Project A Kingshurst Village Centre – to support the delivery of the Kingshurst Village Centre regeneration programme (application value £1.81m);

 

(ii)  That it be agreed to delegate authority to the relevant Director, acting in conjunction with the relevant Cabinet Member, to sign any contractual arrangements associated with the Project A application referred to in (i) above;

 

(iii)  That it be agreed to enter into respective Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the following projects:

 

Project B A MoU for the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) One Public Estate (OPE) Asset Disposal Strategy and Protocol – to support a collaborative approach between the Council and WMCA to deliver OPE asset disposal ambitions.

 

Project C Site SO1 (East of Solihull) proposed MoU.

 

(iv)  That it be agreed to delegate authority to the relevant Director, acting in conjunction with the relevant Cabinet Member, to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Projects B and C referred to (iii) above detailed in Appendix 1. In respect of Project C, site SO1, any progress with this site would be subject to the outcome of the Local Plan inquiry and adoption of the Local Plan Review.
