To seek Members approval to undertake a consultation exercise on the review of licence conditions for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire drivers, operators and vehicle proprietors. Additional documents:
Minutes: Members were reminded that on 12 February 2020, they approved a revised Licensing Policy for the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire trades which was due to come into force on 1 April 2020. Members were advised that to continue with outdated conditions that did not reflect the new policy aims would be inconsistent with the objective of an integrated and effective licensing regime. Therefore, a consultation exercise to review licensing conditions would need to be undertaken with licence holders, industry representatives and members of the public, to ensure the policy was implemented effectively, and the licensing regime was integrated and robust. RESOLVED Members agreed:- (i) To a consultation exercise running from 4-17 March 2020, seeking views on the revised licence conditions for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire drivers, Operators and vehicle proprietors; and (ii) To receive a further report highlighting issues raised through the consultation exercise. |
