PL/2021/00074/VAR- 52 Woodlea Drive Additional documents: Decision: Refused, against the recommendation, for the following reason:
The approved works defined within the planning permission ref: PL/2020/01065/MINFDW have not been adhered to. This application submission, submitted to regularise the resultant development provides for a scale and mass that, when read in the streetscene appears out of character and harmful to both its immediate setting as well as the wider area. In addition, the proposal introduces a flat roof at the dwelling whose design is out of character with surrounding residential built form and as such introduces an unwelcome precedent that is alien to the street-scene. The proposal therefore fails to satisfy Policy P15 of the Solihull Local Plan 2013 and matters of good design as set out in the National Planning Framework Policy 2019.
Mr Jeremy Bungey and Councillor Joe Tildesley spoke against the application whilst a statement of support was read out on behalf of Mr Mike Cox. |
