PL/2021/03086/PPFL 88 and 90 Station Road Additional documents: Minutes: Refused against the Officer recommendation on the grounds that the proposed development would represent poor urban design, the layout, design, size, scale and massing of which would be at odds to its surroundings and would not respect the existing pattern of development, being alien and out of character with the surrounding area and undermining the established grain of development. On this basis the proposed new dwellings would fail to respect, maintain or enhance the distinctiveness and character of the surrounding area. The proposal is therefore contrary to Policy P5 and P15 of the Solihull Local Plan 2013, H1 and BE2 of the Balsall Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan, the guidance contained with the Backland Development SPD, and the provisions of good design as advocated within the National Planning Policy Framework.
Mr David Ball, Parish Councillor Keith Tindall and Ward Councillor Tony Dicicco spoke against the application whilst Mr Richard Cobb spoke in support. |
