To consider a review of the premises licence granted in respect of the Toby Jug, Chester Road, Kingshurst, following an application for a Summary review submitted by West Midlands Police on 10 October 2022.

FULL REVIEW OF THE PREMISES LICENCE – TOBY JUG, CHESTER ROAD, KINGSHURST, B36 0JU

 

The Panel were informed that the DPS was not in attendance and had resigned as DPS and given notice to vacate the premises.

 

The Licensing Officer advised members that the review was required following an application for a Summary Review submitted by West Midlands Police on 10 October 2022. A meeting to consider interim steps was held on 12 October 2022 and steps were imposed. The Panel had to consider whether the steps should continue and/or whether any further sanctions were required.

 

The representatives of West Midlands Police and Stonegate Group made their representations and responded to questions.

 

RESOLVED

The Panel considered it appropriate and proportionate to remove the DPS and, until a new DPS is appointed, for the licensable activities to cease by 8pm and for the premises to be closed by 9pm. They decided not to suspend the licence on this occasion.

 

They also corrected the late night refreshment hours to be11pm – 12:30am instead of the 11pm – 10.30pm stated on the current licence.
