Review of Auckland Education Centre The purpose of the report is to: Ø seek approval to carry out a period of consultation with parents, schools and the wider community on a proposal to seek permission from the Secretary of State to close Auckland Education Centre from 31 August 2019; and
Ø make the necessary interim arrangements to ensure there is an immediate improvement in the standards of education at Auckland Education Centre, for the remainder of this academic year.

(i) To authorise Officers to undertake a period of consultation on a proposal to seek permission from the Secretary of State to close Auckland Education Centre from 31 August 2019; and (ii) To approve that Officers put in interim arrangement, through the creation of an Interim Executive Board (IEB) to ensure an immediate improvement in standards at Auckland Education Centre. |

Children's Service Capital Programme Update 2018/21
The report provides a mid-year update on the Children’s Services Capital Programme and seeks approval to the draft Solihull Schools Asset Management Plan for 2018/21. Additional documents:
Decision: The Cabinet Member for Children, Education and Skills RESOLVED:
(i) To approve the draft Solihull Schools Asset Management Plan 2018 (Appendix A);
(ii) To approve the update to the Children Services Capital Programme for 2018/19 together with the outline programme for 2019/20 and 2020/21 (Appendix B);
(iii) To approve the new scheme proposals included in the programme, and detailed in the body of the report, for: (a) Kingshurst Primary School; (b) St Augustine RC Primary School; (c) St Peter’s RC School and; (d) Dorridge Primary School.
(iv) To approve the new scheme proposal included in the programme, and detailed in the body of the report, for Langley Primary School subject to the preparation of a business plan and final approval to that by the Cabinet Member; and
(v) To approve the draft School Maintenance Programme for 2019/20 (Appendix C) |
