To inform the Cabinet Portfolio Holder of the outcome of the Advisory Group for School Admissions meeting at which consideration was given to applications for secondary, junior and reception places for September 2021 with exceptional social or medical reasons.

Decision:

The Cabinet Member RESOLVED:

Having received the recommendations of the Advisory Group to grant priority 2 to applications with ‘exceptional social or medical reasons’ to one application for Dorridge Primary School was granted.

Admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools for 2022-2023 and qualifying scheme pdf icon PDF 150 KB

For the Cabinet Portfolio Holder to determine the admission arrangements and qualifying scheme for the academic year 2022-2023.

The Cabinet Member RESOLVED:

To approve the proposed admission arrangements for Solihull community and voluntary controlled schools including published admission numbers and the qualifying scheme for admissions in 2022-2023, as detailed in appendix 1 to the report.

6.

Proposal to expand Cheswick Green Primary School pdf icon PDF 280 KB

To update Cabinet Member on the outcome of the consultation process with parents, residents and the wider education community on the proposal to expand Cheswick Green Primary School.

The Cabinet Member RESOLVED:

 

(i)  To note the outcome of the consultation process having considered the responses and in doing so acknowledged that:

·  Cheswick Green Primary School is the only school that can be extended to provide the school places required by the local community; and

·  Parking and travelling were key issues that needed to be addressed going forward with the proposal.

 

(ii)  To approve that Officers move to the next stage of the process and publish a statutory proposal.

7.

Local Authority Approval of Appointment of Governors - Mill Lodge Primary School pdf icon PDF 155 KB

To approve a Local Authority nomination to school governing bodies.
