To set out how the council is supporting the recovery of the cultural sector in Solihull.

Decision:

The Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Tourism and Sport:-

1.  Supported the proposal for Solihull’s first Festival of Culture Moments, providing practical interventions for artists, performing organisations and community groups, as well as opportunities for public engagement and involvement with cultural activities;

2.  Supported a creative initiative to capture Solihull’s Covid story through a range of media;

3.  Supported the preparations for a Commonwealth Games cultural programme to run from April-September 2022, in parallel with the main Games cultural programme;

4.  Noted the recovery arrangements at The Core; that The Core will host a pantomime in 2021; and investments made in the Council’s cultural development capacity; and

5.  Supported Tudor Grange Academy in their bid for Kingshurst Museum to attain charitable status.
