Councillor S Gethen joined the meeting in relation to agenda item 5, the summary and assessment of bids for funding from the neighbourhood proportion of the Community Infrastructure Levy and spoke in support of the proposed allocation of funding to the Malvern Park play area improvements.

The Cabinet Member for Communities and Leisure endorsed the contents of the report and actions being taken forward.

Summary and Assessment of Bids for Funding from the Neighbourhood Proportion of The Community Infrastructure Levy pdf icon PDF 401 KB

This report provides an update on the Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL) bids for 2022.

A total of 21 bids were received and following their assessment against the agreed scoring matrix, it is proposed that 14 bids be recommended for funding approval. A total of £402,404 of NCIL funding was available, with £401,538 worth of bids being submitted.

The Cabinet Member for Communities and Leisure:

(i)  Noted the current position for allocating NCIL funds.

(ii)  Agreed for the 14 bids listed in paragraph 4.13 of the report to be awarded funding from the NCIL ward funds.

(iii)  Agreed that the process for bids in 2023 was in accordance with current arrangements and no top slicing of funds to create a non-specific ward pot be undertaken.
