Purpose of committee

To provide overview & scrutiny of  the Cabinet  Portfolio Holder  responsibilities for Adult Social Care and Health

To undertake Health Scrutiny powers specified in the Local Authority (Public Health, Health and Wellbeing Boards and Health Scrutiny) Regulations 2013 including the power to refer a substantial variation to a Health service to the Secretary of State for Health.

To provide overview & scrutiny of the responsibilities of the Solihull Health and Wellbeing Board.

The Key projects/activities:-


·  Development and initial delivery of Strategic Housing Framework ( Wellbeing and specialist Housing, Homelessness)

·  Continued Delivery of the Green Prospectus (Clean Air)

·  Developing an integrated community-based approach to enable people to start and live well (loneliness / social isolation, suicide prevention, autism and intermediate care services) as well as end of life care.
