To update the board on the development of the annual operational plan for 2023/24, the 5 year Joint Forward Plan and the 10 year ICP Strategy development.

The Joint Forward Plan (JFP) will provide strategic focus and alignment, setting our system five year delivery plan. The JFP should also align with key strategic documents such as our Inception Framework, Bsol ICS Operating Framework and 10 Year ICP Strategy.

This update provides a summary of the recent discussions held at Solihull Together and the Solihull Place Committee.

The draft local outcomes framework has been reviewed and further improvements have been made.  Subject to endorsement by the Board, it is proposed that work on populating and reporting on the metrics contained within the framework commences this summer. 

Board to receive a verbal update on the delivery of the Children’s Services in Solihull.

To update members of the Health and Wellbeing Board on progress in the delivery of a Family Hub offer in Solihull by March 2024.

In line with requirements set out by NHS England local areas are required to produce Local transformation plans for mental health services for children and young people.

To summarise key outcomes of the Solihull Suicide Prevention Strategy 2017 – 2021.

To feedback and seek endorsement on Solihull’s refreshed Suicide Prevention Strategy 2023 – 2026.

Board to receive an update on the findings of the Healthwatch survey.

This report is presented to update the Health and Wellbeing Board on the range of actions being taken to address nitrous oxide use.

Nitrous oxide is illegal to give away or sell for its psychoactive effect. However, its legitimate use means that it is easily obtainable, and sales are difficult to regulate through Trading Standards.

Nitrous oxide use in young people is of an increasing concern locally and nationally. There are health and social harms linked to inhaling nitrous oxide that necessitate mitigation through public health interventions

This report is to advise the Health and Wellbeing Board of the introduction of new government funding to support hospital discharges from December 2022 to March 2023. It explains the policy direction behind this funding and the requirement to submit a plan for approval, linking this to the Better Care Fund arrangements already in place.

The Ageing Well Dashboard for Quarter 3 is presented to Health and Wellbeing Board for information.

The dashboard presents progress against the 10 metrics used to demonstrate performance across the priority areas for the Ageing Well Board. Where performance is below the local target, there is a good understanding of the reasons for this and steps are in place to address the causes.
