James Hughes, Democratic Services Officer, declared that he is a serving Parish Councillor, and Chair of Council, at Meriden Parish Council which is being represented at the meeting via a deputation. For the purposes of transparency, he confirmed that he was not a decision maker and is at the meeting in a professional capacity to record the decisions that the Cabinet Member makes as well offer procedural advice if needed.

The Cabinet Member heard three deputations:

·  Mr Keith Green spoke about the recent boy racing incidents and encouraged the Council to act to prevent them.

·  Cllr S Gethen spoke on the Blossomfield Road Cycle Lane and shared concerns.

·  Cllr R Wild (Meriden Parish Council) spoke on the B4104 Cycle Lane and encouraged the Council to remove the Oracas and replace them with another segregation measure.

To seek approval to extend 20mph speed limits at both locations in response to public consultation and ward member feedback.

·  Noted the contents of the report and feedback on the proposed 20mph speed limit extensions at Greswold School and Castle Bromwich Infant School.

·  Approved the implementation of the proposed 20mph speed limits, as detailed, and shown in appendices A and C of the Agenda Reports Pack.

To consider the next steps and proposed improvements for the Council's 3 Active Travel Corridors along the B4102 Blossomfield Road, B4104 Birmingham Road and A4141 Warwick Road.

The Cabinet Member:

·  Noted the feedback on the B4102 Blossomfield Road contra-flow cycle lane and agreed to make the associated experimental Traffic Regulation Order permanent, as set out in Appendix A, and officers will then undertake further consultation with residents and stakeholders on the future of the scheme and permanent design.

·  Noted the feedback received on the B4104 Birmingham Road (Millisons Wood to Meriden) active travel corridor and agreed the changes, as set out in Appendix B

·  Noted the feedback received for the A4141 Warwick Road (Knowle to Solihull Town Centre) active travel corridor and agreed to consult on the proposed improvements, as set out in Appendix C.

·  Agreed to receive a further update report in Spring 2024.

Solihull Town Centre Public Realm Strategy and Phase 1 Concept Design

The purpose of this report is to present the findings of public consultation on the Public Realm Strategy (PRS) and concept design for Solihull Town Centre and to seek approval of the PRS.

·  Approved the Public Realm Strategy.

·  Approved the concept design as the basis for future design development.

·  Approved that authority be delegated to the Director of Economy and Infrastructure to approve the submission of applications to secure funding for further scheme development and delivery.
